Two numbers, one flight
Most contractors come to aerial mapping for the bid — they want defensible dirt quantities without paying a crew to walk the site for a week. That alone usually justifies the flight. What tends to surprise people is the second use: because every capture is dated and measurable, the same data that priced the job also settles what moved.
When a pay application gets questioned, the argument is normally about whose estimate to believe. If the site has been flown monthly, it isn't an estimate — it's two surfaces and the difference between them. Contractors who adopt that cadence spend measurably less time in those conversations.
